It exists because a living publication that revises its conclusions owes readers a visible account of those revisions. ### What this page is, and what it is not The [Timeline](/timeline) records what happened in the AI industry. This page records what happened to this publication. They are different records and should not be read as one: an event can appear on the Timeline without changing anything here, and a correction can appear here without any industry event behind it. Each entry is marked with what kind of change it was: - **Conclusion** — an assessment, claim, or boundary changed, and the evidence that forced the change is named. - **Evidence** — source records, timeline events, or datasets were added or revised without changing a conclusion. - **Correction** — something published here was wrong. What was wrong, and what it now says, are both stated. - **Reader surface** — a page, navigation route, or reading affordance changed. Corrections are listed with the same prominence as additions. A publication that records only its growth is not keeping an honest changelog. Page-level revision dates appear at the top of every chapter and page. This changelog covers publication-level changes that a returning reader would want to know about, not every edit. --- ### 2026-09-04 **Conclusion — the NVIDIA-Hugging Face transaction moved from unconfirmed to announced.** The NVIDIA chapter previously treated the transaction as disputed reporting and set an explicit condition for changing that: a first-party statement, a regulatory filing, or equivalent authoritative confirmation. NVIDIA published a statement agreeing to acquire Hugging Face for $12,930,300,000, so the condition was met and the chapter was rewritten. It now describes an announced agreement that has not closed.
